Navin Sehgal is the founder and CEO of Maharya Inc., a U.S.-registered leather accessories company with offices in Albany, New York and manufacturing operations in Kolkata, India. Since 1999, Navin has built Maharya into a trusted supply partner for global brands, retailers and importers — specialising in OEM production, private label development and wholesale leather accessories. His expertise spans sourcing, manufacturing compliance, international trade and product development across the USA, UK and European markets.
With over two decades of experience in leather manufacturing and international trade, Navin brings deep operational knowledge across product development, compliance, quality control and global logistics. Under his leadership, Maharya has grown into a certified, export-ready manufacturing partner serving brands and retailers across the USA, UK and Europe.
Our Story
Maharya is a family-owned business run by Navin Sehgal of Kolkata, India. At only 17, Navin embarked on a journey into the leather trade, working for a well-known leather export house.
Later he took a senior position in quality inspection for a distinguished foreign conglomerate. In 1999, Navin decided to pen his own chapter by opening a leather goods factory in Kolkata.
Navin's mission was bold – to build a factory that set the gold standard for values, service excellence, and adherence to international compliance standards for social and environmental responsibility.
It was a journey fraught with challenges, but one that he navigated with unwavering determination and ultimately, success.
In 2024, Navin embarked on yet another adventure by deciding to expand worldwide.
With a new business on the East Coast USA and an international team and expanding network, Navin is committed to bringing Maharya's beautiful leather goods to the world.
Beyond the factory walls, Navin's heart beats for philanthropy. He extends his support to causes close to home, especially those dedicated to uplifting the lives of the people of India.

As a responsible business, we are committed to ethical trade, fair labour practices and giving back to the communities in which we operate.
We allocate a portion of our annual profits to address critical issues such as hunger, poverty, and various charitable causes, thereby contributing to the betterment of India’s communities.
Our Factory
We own and operate a state-of-the-art WRAP, C-TPAT SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar & ISO:9001/ISO:45001 certified factory in Central Kolkata, India, where we use top leather manufacturing equipment imported from Germany and Italy.
Our factory is run under the highest quality control standards, cleanliness, and strict safety procedures.
Our WRAP and SEDEX certified production facility in Kolkata spans 10,000 square feet, with a dedicated team of skilled leather artisans.
In addition, we own 17,000 square feet of industrial-zoned land for future factory expansion, which is planned to be used for partnerships and collaborations in a dedicated manufacturing capacity.
Post-production, the goods are carefully inspected and packed on-site for international shipping. The factory is located approximately 15 miles from the shipping docks for fast and cost-effective shipping.

Maharya serves customers all over the world, but most are concentrated in North America, South America, Northern and Southern Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
With presence in both U.S. and Europe, we are constantly working on further expansions to better serve our international customers.
